Single Stream Recycling
Single Stream Recycling allows a wider range of materials to be collected, and ALL the recyclables (paper, plastic, aluminum) may be placed in one container.
Curbside Residential Refuse and Recycling Collection
The Town of Shelby provides refuse collection weekly. On Monday, refuse is collected from mobile home parks. On Tuesday, refuse is collected from homes north of the Hwy 14/61 overpass. South of the overpass, collection is on Wednesday. Recyclables are collected on the same day as refuse, but every other week. All recycling needs to be placed in the recycle bin, you can mix. Recycling and Refuse collection will be placed on the tax bill as a special charge. Guidelines for refuse and recycling, including a collection calendar are available at the town hall.
