The Town of Shelby has applied for financial assistance to the Federal government (FEMA) once again to cover some of the costs associated with the August 28, 2018 storm damage event. Although our application will be submitted, it will take months before the sites are reviewed and approved for FEMA funding.
The Town Supervisors will remain proactive in repairing as many storm damaged areas as possible. However, some or the remaining work needed to be done may have to wait until 2019. Please keep in mind some of the sites from the 2017 storm event still have to be cleaned up or have encountered additional damage on top of the pre-existing flood damage in this years’ August event.
The following locations are in the process of remediation:
Valley Road, Vista Drive, Wedgewood West, Willow Way West and East, Skyline Drive, Grounomus Road, Red Oaks Street, Breidel Coulee Road, Thistledown Road, Brookwood Addition, Old Hwy 35, Cottonwood Drive, Old Town Road and Mormon Coulee Park, and other locations. This may appear to be a short list to some, however; frequently the Road Crew had to return to clean up after additional downpours and replace materials multiple times.
If you have damage in your area of the Town please report it on the Town of Shelby website under contact us. The Road Crew and everyone here will continue to look for damage but it can be easily overlooked by mistake. This public damage only.
