Dog Licenses

Current rabies vaccination certificate is required in order to receive a license.

Puppy/New Dog Application

Not Spayed or Neutered:$24.00
Spayed or Neutered: $13.00 (Proof of spaying or neutering is required.)
Puppies: If your puppy was born after February 1st, the fee is $12.00. If the puppy has been spayed or neutered the fee is $6.50.

Annually, dog license renewals are due by April 1st. After April 1st dogs must be renewed in the County Clerk's office and will incur a late fee.

There is town limit of 2 dogs per household, however a special exception permit to have 3 dogs can be approved by the Town Board.
Town of Shelby's 3rd Dog Application, to keep a 3rd dog has a $5.00 processing fee.
Application must be submitted and approved at a Town Board meeting, prior to January 1st of the upcoming year.

Cat Licenses

There is a flat $5.00 fee per cat. Current rabies vaccination certificate is required.  


Instructions for finding tax bills on La Crosse County's website:

Go to the La Crosse County web site at :
Click on "Tax/Parcel Search", put in the parcel number/address information/owner information, then "Search".

The name and address will appear in blue. Double click on it.The property information will come up.

To look at taxes only, locate "Taxes" on the right hand side of the page and click on it. The taxes for the current year will come up.
To print taxes only, click on file in the upper left hand corner and then click on print. You can change the year and look at and print off back years taxes.
