DOG & CAT LICENSES
Dog license renewals are due by January 1st each year. After April 1st each year, a penalty will be applied by La Crosse County. Late dogs must be renewed in the County Clerk's office. Remaining dogs outstanding need to be processed by the County and a $25 late fee will be applied by them per dog.
Dog license fee for 2018 is $24. If the dog is spayed or neutered, the fee is reduced to $13.
There is a limit of 2 dogs per household unless a special exception permit to have 3 dogs has been approved by the Town Board. Applications to keep a 3rd dog have a $5 processing fee and must be approved at a town board meeting.
Cat license renewals are also due by April 1 each year. After that date, citations may be issued.
Cat license fee is $5.
Proof of rabies vaccination is required for both dogs and cats. Proof of spaying or neutering is required to get the reduced fee for dogs. Each year in December we will have the dog and cat tags available for your convince when you stop in to pay your taxes.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINDING TAX BILLS ON COUNTY WEB SITE
Go to the La Crosse County web site and make it one of your favorites:
On the Home Page locate "Land Records Information". Click on it.
On the next page click on "Parcel Search" located right under the blue bridge.
Put in the parcel number, OR address information OR owner information and click on "Perform Search".
The name and address will appear in blue. Double click on it.
The property information will come up. To look at taxes only, locate "Taxes" on the right hand side of the page and click on it. The taxes for the current year will come up. If you wish to print taxes only, click on file in the upper left hand corner and then click on print. If you click on the print icon on the page, you will print off all of the parcel information also. Note that there is a small window where you can change the year and look at and print off back years' taxes.
