Assessing and Property Taxes

Board of Review is now completed for 2017. If you have questions, please call the Assessor at 1-800-721-4157.
2017 Assessment Roll will be available for viewing 11am Tuesday, April 25th at the Town Hall. It is helpful to bring in the tax parcel number (starts with 11-xxxx-xx) that you want to view as the roll is by tax parcel or by last name. It is not listed by address.
Open Book will be held from 3-5pm on Monday, May 1st, at the Shelby Town Hall, at 2800 Ward Ave. This meeting is when you can talk directly to the assessor if you have not already done so via phone.
**Call Associated Appraisal at 1-800-721-4157 (not the Town) to schedule your appointment to speak with the assessor at open book if you have questions about your assessment.
Board of Review is scheduled from 4-6pm Monday May 22nd, 2017. This appointment is scheduled if you cannot agree with the previous contact you made with the Assessor at Open Book. You can schedule your appointment for Board of Review with the Town Clerk by 4pm on Thurs, May 18th, 2017. Submit an Objection form and make an apt. if you wish to attend Board of Review.
Associated Appraisal Assessors can be easily identified. They travel in RED trucks with their company logo on the door. They will have uniform shirts and credentials that identify them as Associated employees. You are encouraged to ask to see their credentials when they show up at your door.
