Property Assessment

Board of Review is finalized for 2018.  If you still have questions, please call the Assessor at 1-800-721-4157.

2018 Assessment Roll Dates and Process:

2018 Assessment Roll was available 11am Tuesday, April 24th at the Town Hall. It is helpful to bring in the tax parcel number (starts with 11-xxxx-xx) that you want to view as the roll is by tax parcel or by last name.  It is not listed by address.

Open Book was 3-5pm on Monday, April 30th, at the Shelby Town Hall, at 2800 Ward Ave.  This meeting is when you can talk directly to the assessor if you have not already done so via phone.  TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY to talk with the Assessor if you have questions about your assessment, you can call them also. 

**Call Associated Appraisal at 1-800-721-4157 (not the Town) to schedule your appointment to speak with the assessor at open book if you have questions about your assessment.

Board of Review was 4-6pm Monday May 21st, 2018.  This appointment is scheduled if you cannot agree with the previous contact you made with the Assessor at Open Book.  You can schedule your appointment for Board of Review with the Town Clerk by 4pm on Thurs, May 17th.  Submit an Objection form and make an apt. if you wish to attend Board of Review.

NOTE: The assessment role is final after Board of Review, not when you receive your tax bill.Plan to attend Open Book if you are concerned about your assessment values.

Associated Appraisal Assessors can be easily identified.  They travel in RED trucks with their company logo on the door.  They will have uniform shirts and credentials that identify them as Associated employees.  You are encouraged to ask to see their credentials when they show up at your door.
