Clerk-Treasurer

The Town of Shelby has combined the Offices of Clerk and Treasurer into one appointed full-time position. The Shelby Clerk-Treasurer has a variety of duties and responsibilities that include:

  • Posting notice of, attending and recording minutes of town meetings
  • Maintaining official records
  • Conducting Elections
  • Preparation of the tax roll and mil rates
  • Tax Collection
  • Pet licensure
  • Tavern Licensure
  • Billing / Accounts Receivable
  • Maintenance of financial records
  • Payroll
  • Quarterly Newsletter

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINDING TAX BILLS ON COUNTY WEB SITE

    Go to the La Crosse County web site and make it one of your favorites  www.co.la-crosse.wi.us

    On the Home Page locate "Land Records Information Website"  click on it

    Read the information and click "I Accept"

    Search Category "Real Estate Parcels"  click on it

    Put in parcel number OR address information OR owner information and click on "Perform Search"

    The name and address will appear at the bottom in blue.  Double click on it.

    File with tabs at the top will appear.  Click on Taxes.
